Kellie's First Sketch Challenge

I think I have only just made it into Kellie's First Sketch Challenge. It has been a very crazy week, so card making has taken a bit of a back seat, but I was dying to use the Magnolia Stamp I had already coloured, what would be more perfect than to use it for a challenge.

I have also used the new Walk in the Park DP, Corduroy Buttons, and the Great Friend Stamp Set all from the new mini - luv 'em.

Here is a close up of Tilda (she's so cute).

Supplies
Stamps - Tilda with Ladybug (Magnolia), Great Friend Stamp Set
Ink - Staz On, Basic Grey, Cameo Coral, Baja Breeze, Various for Tilda
Paper -Whisper White, Walk in the Park DP

MDUC - Challenge # 18

I am back on deck and pretty much fully recovered, thank you for all your well wishes (it's definately the season for it).  I have also just spent a couple of days interstate for work - I have so got out of the routine of leaving home at 4:30am - yuk!!!!

I'm excited to show my first entry to the Magnolia Down Under Challenge.  I love Christmas, and I was lucky that my wonderful upline Debbie, stamped a couple of Magnolia images for me some time ago (especially as my Magnolia collection is still very small), and I was just dying to colour him in.  Well last week I received my Stampin Up markers and my Riding Hood Red ink pad - just perfect for a Christmas Challenge.

I really wasn't sure what to do with Santa, so I pulled out my trusty Cuttlebug, some DP and Scallop Oval Punch both from the new mini (out 1 August).  The colours just don't seem to come out as well on my blog as they did on my computer : (

I used Dazzling Diamonds on his hat and coat and pants and Crystal Effects on his boots (as many others have said they don't show up very well, but you can just make it out in this photo).

Supplies
Stamps - Magnolia Sitting Santa, Warm Words
Ink - Staz On, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey, Blush Blossom
Paper -Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Ski Slope DP
Accessories - Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Crystal Effects, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Cuttlebug, Cuttlebug Christmas Ornaments Embossing Folder

Isn't Christmas so much fun (even though its still 5 months away!!!!)

Another Fifth Avenue Floral set.

Sorry it has been so long, unfortunately I spent most of last week recovering from a bad cold.
This was my other set of three Fifth Avenue Floral cards.  This time I stamped the rose image three times and cut out the layers, I then watercoloured each layer in the same colour.   I was quite pleased with the way they turned out (except for the Kraft on Kiwi Kiss cardstock  - not enough contrast in those two colours - lol).

Here's a close up of the flower.

Supplies
Stamps - Fifth Avenue Floral Stamps, Fresh Cuts
Ink - Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey, Versamark
Paper -Whisper White, Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP
Accessories - White Taffeta Ribbon, White Embossing Powder

I have worked on my very first entry to the Magnolia Down Under Challenge this weekend and will post later this week.  Till then, have a great week.

Fifth Avenue Floral Cards

I love the Fifth Avenue Floral set, it is so versatile, whether using randomly over a sheet of white cardstock, watercolouring, or embossing.  I have come up with three sets which I will show you over this week.  The first set was using white embossing.  I have also used the Top Note template (demonstrators can find this template on the website, my generous upline gave me a template to use).  It is quick and simple and the result very elegant.

Supplies
Stamps - Fifth Avenue Floral Stamps, Warm Words
Ink - Versamark
Paper -Whisper White, Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP
Accessories - Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Kiwi Kiss Ribbon, Baja Breeze Ribbon, White Embossing Powder

Stay tuned, more to come.

Case'd Masculine Card

My Dad turns 82 this week and I needed a card for his birthday, so was searching through some blogs to get some ideas and came across the very talented Jayne Mercer.  Her masculine cards are great, and being in a bit of a rush this weekend decided to case one of them for Dad's birthday (you'll find her card here).  I also added the same design onto a carry bag in Kraft.

Supplies
Stamps - Circle Circus Stamp, Best Yet Hostess Set
Ink - Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss
Paper - Kraft, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP
Accessories - Kraft Carry Bag (non SU)

I loved the result and decided to see what it would look like in more feminine colours.  I think it still needs something, maybe a ribbon to finish it off, but overall I think it works.

Happy Birthday Dad

Crochet is Back

First of all, thank you to Debbie for mentioning me on her blog, she is such a lovely and talented person and I am so lucky to have her as my upline.

Thank you to for all the lovely comments, it really is lovely to have people comment on your creations, I am going to make sure I do the same.

Onto my next creation - I came across a post by Nichole Heady from Papertrey Ink on her blog for a tutorial for crocheting flowers (you'll find it here), they were so cute I wanted to give them a try.  They got a little addictive though, as I now have 20+ made.  I was desperate to try them out on a card, so this is what I came up with.

Supplies
Stamps - En Francais Background Stamp, Best Yet Hostess Set
Ink - Basic Grey, Versamark
Paper - Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Bella Rose DSP
Accessories - Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Crocheted Flowers, Self Adhesive Pearls (non SU)

Enjoy the weekend

Bridal Shower - Milk Carton

Hi, I wanted to make a special package for a bridal shower gift for a friend, and since I was keen to try using Becky's Milk Carton Tutorial to make a 'half' milk carton tote, I thought this would be the ideal opportunity.  Normally you make 4 milk cartons and there are two sections to sit them in, one at the front and one at the back, but I wanted to see if it would still work with just one section and 2 milk cartons.  I went with a fairly classic 'bridal' style, but I think it worked out pretty well.

Supplies
Stamps - Both Was Blossoms (retired), Occasional Greetings
Ink - Basic Grey, Versamark
Paper - Very Vanilla, Going Grey, Bella Bleu DSP
Accessories - Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, White Embossing Powder, Word Window Punch

Now I just need to find a gift that will fit into the package!!!

Cheers

Fifth Avenue Mini Pizza Box

The Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set was one of the first Stampin' Up sets I ordered, I love the fact that it looks great in different colours on white cardstock.  You can stamp up a whole sheet of Whisper White and cut it up to use on cards.  Here I used it to make a mini pizza box and cards.  I found the template online, it was created by Melissa Stout (you can find the link  here).  This was one of the first things that I made when I got my first stamps and inks.

Supplies
Stamps - Fifth Avenue Floral, Best Yet Hostess Set
Ink - Basic Grey, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss
Paper - Whisper White, Kraft, Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Grey
Accessories - Basic Grey Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punch

This was another version of the pizza box set I made using some old scrapbooking supplies and the Upsy Daisy Stamp Set.

cheers

Welcome to my new blog

Hi everyone.  I have just joined Stampin Up - in fact I'm still waiting for my Starter Kit to arrive (should arrive this week).  The wonderful Debbie Pamment (my upline) suggested I set up a blog once I become a demonstrator, so please bear with me.  It's strange, I actually thought I was quite computer literate, but this blog stuff takes a little bit of getting used to.

I have had a lot of fun stamping over the last month, this is a birthday card and pillow box I made for my friend's little boy's 3rd birthday party.  The stamp is called Party Dragon (a LeLo Design stamp), the Happy Birthday stamp is a Daisy Bucket Design stamp.  This was also my first attempt at watercolouring, I used Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss (as apart from Basic Grey and Black they were the only inks I had).  I was really pleased with the result.

I have also made a Half Milk Carton from a tutorial I got from Becky Roberts for a friend's Bridal Shower, which I will post soon.  It is a great tutorial and will get a lot of use I've even made a Christmas set which I will also post soon (well as soon as I get my next Stampin Up order - waiting on some Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon to finish it off).
